Source:
Public Health Ontario Infectious Disease Query: Middlesex-London Health Unit: Case counts and crude rates of reportable diseases by year. Toronto ON: Ontario Agency for Health Protection and Promotion; 2019 May 8 [cited 2019 May 13].Between 2005 and 2018, the rate of chlamydia infections significantly increased among both females and males.
The chlamydia infection rate was higher among females than males across the 14-year time period.
Higher rates of chlamydia infections observed among females compared to males was likely related to differing STBBI screening and testing opportunities, rather than sex-based differences in the occurrence of the disease.
