Between 2005 and 2018, the rate of chlamydia infections significantly increased among both females and males.

The chlamydia infection rate was higher among females than males across the 14-year time period.

Higher rates of chlamydia infections observed among females compared to males was likely related to differing STBBI screening and testing opportunities, rather than sex-based differences in the occurrence of the disease.
