Key Findings: 
  • In 2006, about one-half of the population of Middlesex-London was married, while 11.4% were either separated or divorced (Fig. 2.8).
  • In 2006, in Middlesex-London, about 17% of families were headed by single parents and over 80% of all single-parent families were headed by females (Fig. 2.9).
  • Maps show how rates of single-parent families varied within in the City of London and the County of Middlesex (Fig. 2.10 and Fig. 2.11).
  • Middlesex-London had a slightly larger proportion of one-person households than Ontario and a slightly smaller proportion of couples with children (Fig. 2.12).
