London Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) includes Central Elgin, London, Middlesex Centre, Southwold, St. Thomas, Strathroy-Caradoc, Thames Centre
- The unemployment rate in Middlesex-London was similar to the unemployment rate in Ontario from 2001 to 2010.
- The unemployment rate remained steady over time at around 6% until 2008. In 2009 there was a dramatic increase both in Middlesex-London and Ontario as a whole, where it increased to 9.1% and 9.0%, respectively. Unemployment rates decreased somewhat in 2010, but did not return to pre-2009 levels.
