Key Findings: 
  • Between 1996 and 2010, the populations of Middlesex-London increased by 12.9% and Ontario, by 19.2%.The rate of growth in Middlesex-London was higher in the late 1990s and early 2000s.  It has since declined (Fig. 1.14).
  • The projected growth in Middlesex-London from 2011 to 2036 is 31.1% compared to 32.7% for all of Ontario (Fig. 1.14).
  • The 65 and older age group in Middlesex-London is expected to grow 118.8% between 2011 and 2036, more than doubling in the 25 year time frame (Fig. 1.15).
  • Growth is also predicted in all other age groups with the zero to 11 year-olds increasing by 29.3%; 12 to 19 years-olds, by 14.1%; 20 to 44 year-olds, by 15.5%; and the 45 to 64 year-olds, by 13.0% (Fig. 1.15).
