Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, integrated Public Health Information System (iPHIS) database, extracted July 22, 2011Note:
Invasive Streptococcus pneumoniae infections have been reportable only since 2003. Information about these infections from prior to this date is not available.
- After influenza, the most commonly reported infection potentially prevented by immunization reported in Middlesex-London between 2000 and 2010 was invasive Streptococcus pneumoniae.
- Between 2000 and 2010, the number of pertussis (whooping cough) infections decreased.
- Changes over time for other infections potentially prevented by immunization could not be reliably assessed due to small numbers of cases reported.
